Parents, Cali and Marlon Williams are excited to welcome our daughter into the world. We are blessed to bring her into a community of souls working to create more beauty, connection and love in the world. This is her origin story.
First there was nothing,
Then there was a spark
and it was made of love
and a little bit of magic.
Everything scattered
but all things made of love
tend to attract each other,
so all that mattered combined,
to form atoms
and the atoms joined to become the elements
you will learn about in school one day.
Elements are a kind of stardust
and thus naturally flow together
becoming stars including our Sun,
which has eight planets circling it,
though back in our day there were nine.
On the third planet from our Sun,
first there was just rock then fire and water
and then came the second spark
that created tiny living things in a soup
like Granny makes on nights when it is stormy and cold.
The tiny little things grew to
become tadpoles, then little fish,
then big fish larger than whales,
then reptiles creeping from sea, to the land, and to the air
because all great things
must start small before they learn to fly.
There were dinosaurs
and wholly mammoths
and apes that learned
to use rocks as tools,
who invented art and language
so that they could tell each other
about their adventures during the day.
These apes called themselves humans
and they would tell great stories
around the fire,
before packing up the car,
to return back to the cities
they had built,
with their tall buildings,
and underground subways.
Located at the very center of the universe
Is New York the greatest city of all
and in a park, in that city,
beneath the shadow of a bridge,
two souls met and fell love,
because all things made of love,
tend to attract each other.
Returning to that same place
those two souls joined in marriage
where the rock meets the water
and they started a fire
that would become you,
the third great spark
because three
is daddy’s favorite number
You are a spark in world,
a child made of love
and a little bit of magic,
that like all great things,
starts out small
before learning to fly.
